A fallen tree behind the local Walmart triggered a brief power outage this morning, leaving the retail store and surrounding businesses in the dark for nearly an hour.

Jason Jolly of Rockwood Electric Utility confirmed that a downed tree caused the sudden disruption. While utility crews restored electricity to the area within about an hour, shoppers faced additional delays. Walmart kept its doors closed to incoming customers for another 45 minutes as employees worked to reboot computer systems and essential equipment.

No injuries were reported during the incident, and normal operations have since resumed across the affected businesses.
