DR. FARLEY SELECTED FOR DIRECTOR OF SCHOOLS
Dr. Rebecca Farley was unanimously selected as the new Director of Schools for Cumberland County at tonight’s School Board meeting. The decision followed an open interview process on June 16, where the Tennessee School Boards Association recommended Dr. Farley and Dr. Randy Shannon. Dr. Farley, who has been serving as the interim Director of Schools since April 24, 2025, was chosen over Dr. Shannon for the permanent role.
The board’s decision was made after a thorough search process, which included public feedback through a survey conducted by the Tennessee School Boards Association and discussions on the director search timeline and salary range during earlier meetings. Dr. Farley’s unanimous selection reflects confidence in her leadership, experience, and deep ties to the Cumberland County school community.
