DRIVER CHARGED AFTER VEHICLE CRASHES INTO POWER POLE IN CUMBERLAND COUNTY

The Tennessee Highway Patrol released a report today of a vehicle versus a power pole accident in Cumberland County.
The crash happened Sunday afternoon (March 17, 2024, around 3:30 p.m.) on Highway 70 West near Highland Lane.
Troopers say a 1996 Mercury Villager driven by 27-year-old Osbaldo Francisco Lu Torres was traveling east and ran off the road. The vehicle went down an embankment and collided with the power pole. The vehicle rotated around the pole and came to a rest.
Torres was injured in the crash.
He was charged with DUI, simple possession of drugs, driving on a suspended license, violation of the open container law, and no proof of insurance.
