DRUNK MAN TRESSPASSES AND BECOMES VIOLENT AT CROSSVILLE WOMAN’S DRIVEWAY

Yesterday, Deputy Holden Atkinson was dispatched to Deep Water Rd for a male causing problems and being belligerent at a female’s house. The female said she heard a truck pull into her driveway that she did not recognize and went out to confront the male as to why he was
at her house, which is when he began to get into her face, screaming at her.

The woman said this put her into fear for her safety as well as her children’s safety who were asleep in the house.

Deputy Smith had been trying to explain to the male that he needed to leave the residence, but he refused to do so. He also refused to identify
himself when asked for his name and date of birth so that he could be banned from the residence.

After continuously trying to get the man to comply with verbal commands and refusing, after seeing the male had a pistol on his right hip, the deputy advised the male he was being detained.

At this point, the male began to resist while Deputies Atkinson and Wilson tried going hands-on to get the male into custody. After he resisted, the deputies pointed tasers at the male and tried once again to get him to comply.

He then began to resist and try to get away, which is when Deputy Wilson deployed his taser four times.

The male went to the ground and was placed into custody, where he was identified as Scott Kendall. He was then transported to Cumberland County intake for booking.

Kendall was charged with criminal tresspass, posessing a handgun while intoxicated, public intoxication, and resisting arrest.
