DUI ARREST NEAR SHONEY’S IN CROSSVILLE

On May 15, 2025, at around 10:01 PM, Officer Charlock observed Megan Romero driving a silver Ford Escape at 63 mph in a 45 mph zone near Shoney’s on Main Street in Crossville. After initiating a traffic stop, he noted signs of intoxication, including slurred speech, bloodshot eyes, and a strong alcohol odor from her vehicle.
Romero admitted to having an open 16 oz. alcoholic beverage. She appeared unsteady during the stop, and Officer Charlock handed the case to Officer Jacob Ogle due to being off-duty.
Officer Ogle conducted a partial standardized field sobriety test, noting multiple signs of nystagmus in Romero’s eyes. Romero refused to continue the test, leading to her arrest for DUI. At Cumberland County Jail, a blood search warrant was granted, and two empty 12 oz. Bootleggers were found in her vehicle.
Romero consented to a blood draw, and two vials of blood were collected at Cumberland Medical and submitted as evidence.
