EARLY VOTING CONCLUDES, GENERAL ELECTION COMING UP
Early voting concluded Saturday for the August 2 general election. In Cumberland County, 6,456 people voted with 5,292 cast on the Republican side and 1,125 for Democrats. In Roane County, 7,022 voted, with 1,701 for Democrats and 5,103 for Republicans. In Rhea County, 3,785 votes were cast – 2,910 being Republicans and 680 Democrats. Fentress County saw 4,088 early votes, with 2,692 Republican and 605 Democrats, and in Pickett County, 881 early voters made their choice, 533 Republicans and 232 Democrats.
Polls will be open Thursday from 8 a.m. until 7 p.m. Central in Cumberland and Fentress counties and from 9 a.m. until 7 p.m. Central in Pickett. Roane and Rhea county polls will run from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. and Morgan County’s hours are from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m. Eastern.
