Bread of Life in Crossville – the doors to the church across from the rescue mission will be locked at 9 p.m. tonight, but if the weather gets too bad, at whatever hour to knock on the door, you will be welcome to a place to warm or sleep, and probably something to eat.

PUTNAM COUNTY / COOKEVILLE

Hip Cookeville, via the Cookeville Community Cares coalition, would like to announce the activation of an emergency cold weather shelter to provide refuge for the homeless during the impending frigid nights this week. The emergency shelter, located at the Cookeville Rescue Mission’s Johnstone Building, is available when temperatures drop below 32 degrees. Volunteers will be available at the shelter beginning on 3 p.m. Sunday evening (Jan 14, 2024), and will operate the shelter on an as-needed basis. The public can check here for updates. Persons in need of shelter within the Cookeville city limits who don’t have transportation can contact the Cookeville Police Department for a ride to the shelter. If you are outside city limits and need transportation, contact us at [email protected] and our Volunteers will try to arrange transportation for you. Although animals cannot be housed onsite at the Mission, those needing shelter will have the opportunity to have their furry friends sheltered safely at on off-site location, thanks to a local animal rescue.

ROANE COUNTY

The Warming Center will be open tonight, January 14, 2024 starting at 8 p.m. at Courts of Praise Church. A hot meal and a warm bed will be offered for anyone who needs it. The church is located at 215 Maple Street in Harriman

WHITE COUNTY
