EVASIVE DRIVER CHARGED AFTER SINGLE-VEHICLE ROLLOVER CRASH
THP reports just before 4 Tuesday afternoon, a vehicle traveling east on Black Jack Road in Roane County crossed the center line, ran off the left side of the road, struck a tree, rolled over and landed in a yard on Black Jack Road.
The driver, 26-year-old Braden Cofer of Rockwood, pulled an injured 28-year-old Skyla N. Burks of Rockwood, from the passenger’s seat and fled the scene. Cofer had told a witness he was going to his grandmother’s to get help and would be back. He never returned.
Cofer was charged with driving on a revoked license, leaving the scene of an accident and failure to exercise due care.
