EX-BOYFRIEND STEALS WOMAN’S TRUCK FROM FRONT YARD IN CUMBERLAND COUNTY AND FLEES TO FLORIDA
On May 22, 2026, the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office responded to a motor vehicle theft report at the sheriff’s office parking lot. The victim reported that her white 2002 GMC Sierra pickup truck (valued at $6,000) was stolen from her front yard at Regan Drive while she was at work.
The suspect is identified as her ex-boyfriend and mechanic. She stated that he had permission only to fix the brakes and remove train horns from the vehicle, but she explicitly did not give him permission to drive it. Evidence included a text message from the suspect’s wife indicating he had traveled to Ocala, Florida, along with a photo of him in the stolen truck.
Deputy Holden Atkinson attempted to contact the suspect, but calls went straight to voicemail. The vehicle was entered into NCIC as stolen. The truck was later recovered on May 23, 2026.
Since the suspect hasn’t been arrested, he will go unnamed in this report.
