MAN WITH AGGRAVATED BURGLARY AND EVADING ARREST CHARGES TO APPEAR IN COURT ON THURSDAY
Daniel Ray Boles is scheduled to appear in Cumberland County General Sessions Court on Thursday, May 28, 2026, to face charges of aggravated burglary (habitation) and evading arrest.
According to police report, on February 16, 2026, at approximately 8:41 p.m., Crossville Police officers, including Sgt. Chrystal Massey, responded to a residence on Hillsway for a reported active burglary in progress involving a suspect with a firearm. Upon arrival, officers observed a broken front door window. A male homeowner, armed with a firearm, emerged from the garage and directed officers toward a fleeing suspect. During a foot pursuit, Officer Foster and Sgt. Massey deployed tasers at the suspect—identified as Daniel Ray Boles, wearing an orange shirt—after he refused to stop. Sgt. Massey’s second taser deployment was successful, allowing officers to take Boles into custody. A search of Boles found no firearm.
The homeowners reported hearing loud bangs at the front door while on the couch with their baby. After Boles kicked in the door window, one homeowner warned him that he would be shot if he entered. Boles claimed he needed help before fleeing the scene. Officers documented muddy boot prints on the door, damage to the knob, and a broken window, with the total property damage estimated at around $3,000. Boles was transported to the Cumberland County Justice Center.
