A Fairfield Glade man in his 70’s came to the Cumberland County Justice Center this week to inform deputies he was scammed out of a total of $167,000. He stated he sent money several times since last November to different addresses to the scammer. At one point, the suspect sent the victim a thumb drive that once was connected to the victims computer used a Microsoft pop-up to access the computer. The matter is under investigation by the Fairfield Glade Police Department and the sheriff’s office. The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Department reminds the public do not give out personal information to individuals you do not know that call upon you.
