The Tennessee Highway Patrol responded to a fatal vehicle accident in eastern Roane County early this morning. A 2007 Ford Mustang driven by 21-year-old Gexzer Benitez of Knoxville was traveling west on Buttermilk Road around 1 a.m. and failed to negotiate a right turn. The car left the asphalt, went airborne at Eblen Cave Road and overturned. Benitez was ejected and died from injuries sustained.
