The Tennessee Highway Patrol responded to a vehicle accident last night on Highway 127 North in the Rinnie community of Cumberland County. Troopers say a 1998 Chevy S10 pickup driven by 46-year-old Steven Kelly Jr. of Crossville left the roadway, went down an embankment and hit a tree. Kelly, who was not restrained, had to be extricated from the wreckage and passed away from injuries sustained. The report indicates Kelly was traveling around the posted speed limit at the time the vehicle left the highway and crashed.
