A man lost his life in a recent single-vehicle accident on I-40 in Cumberland County.

The report released this morning by the Tennessee Highway Patrol states a 1998 Chevy pickup driven by 61-year-old Billy Joe Clouse was traveling east at the 309-mile marker when he left the road for an unknown reason.

The truck went down an embankment, struck a tree, and turned over.

Troopers say Clouse was not restrained and partially ejected when the truck overturned.
