A female inmate is claiming she was sexually assaulted while incarcerated in the Roane County jail while being held for transfer to the Cumberland County jail. The woman from Harriman told officers six female inmates pulled her from a bed in the jail pod in Kingston and attacked her. Shortly after, the inmate was transferred to Cumberland County where the report was taken. The victim was escorted to Cumberland Medical Center for treatment. The incident is under investigation.
