FENTRESS COUNTY MAN KILLED IN I-40 VEHICLE ACCIDENT IN CUMBERLAND COUNTY

A Fentress County man lost his life in a vehicle accident on I-40 in Cumberland County just after 5 a.m. today. Trooper Justin Mote says a 2018 Volvo tractor-trailer operated by 50-year-old Thomas Morgan from Portageville, Missouri was stopped at the 320 mile marker for an active construction rolling road block when he was rear ended by a 1997 Nissan Maxima driven by 26-year-old Brandon Slaven of Jamestown. Slaven, who reportedly was not restrained, died from injuries sustained. Morgan was not hurt.

This makes the 6th traffic fatality in Cumberland County since January 1, 2020.
