FENTRESS COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE HONORS FALLEN OFFICERS FOR NATIONAL POLICE WEEK

During National Police Week, the Fentress County Sheriff’s Office pauses to honor both the officers who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty and the men and women who continue to serve their community each day. The message recognizes that behind every badge is a person who misses family holidays, works long nights, answers difficult calls, and carries unseen burdens. It describes law enforcement not merely as a job, but as a calling rooted in sacrifice, courage, and a deep commitment to the communities they protect.

The tribute specifically remembers the following fallen officers:

  • Oder Fowler (End of Watch: March 14, 1938)
  • Horace Taylor (May 15, 1940)
  • Casper Wood (May 15, 1940)
  • Thomas York (May 7, 1972)
  • Jeff Hancock (November 14, 2021)
  • Douglas Lamb (April 4, 2022)

Their sacrifices, dedication, and lasting legacy will not be forgotten.
