A Fentress County deputy sheriff as well as the sheriff’s department was recognized this week during National Police Week by the kindergarten class at York Elementary School. Deputy Denton Jones was presented a special gift from the students for the Fentress County Sheriff’s Department to thank them for all they do to keep the county safe. Interim Sheriff Gary Ledbetter said the youth of the county is the future of Fentress County and he wants them to feel comfortable with law enforcement and feel they can always depend on officers if needed.
