Crossville police responded early this morning to Elite Market on Highway 127 North to a blaze.

Firefighters arrived to put the fire out in the parking lot near a dumpster and propane tank.

The arrest report states the suspect, 28-year-old Scott M. Hyder of Crossville, was found inside the car wash on site.

Video surveillance showed Hyder reportedly throwing items into a pile and intentionally setting the fire.

Hyder told police he did not remember setting the blaze.

He reportedly could not answer simple questions and requested to go to the hospital.

Hyder told officers he had a medical condition.

He was taken to Cumberland Medical Center.

Hyder was issued a citation for reckless burning.
