FIREFIGHTERS RESPOND TO MONTEREY APARTMENT FIRE
On Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at approximately 4:00 p.m., emergency personnel from the Monterey Police Department, Monterey Fire Department, and Putnam County EMS responded to a reported apartment fire at 303 W. Commercial Ave.
Upon arrival, responders discovered that the building’s sprinkler system had successfully extinguished the flames.
The apartment resident and her pet safely evacuated the unit with no injuries reported. Authorities expressed appreciation for the swift response by all involved agencies.
