FIRST WALMART, NOW KROGER TO REQUIRE ALL CUSTOMERS TO WEAR A MASK DURING COVID-19 PANDEMIC

Kroger announced today they will require all customers to wear a mask while shopping in their stores to mitigate the spread of COVID-19.

The mask requirement begins Wednesday, July 22, 2020. The grocery chain’s employees have already been ordered to wear facial coverings and will continue to do so.

“With the increase in COVID-19 cases across the country, we are committed to doing our part to help reduce the spread of the virus,” a statement from Kroger reads. “Starting July 22, 2020 we will require all customers in all locations to wear a mask, joining our associates who continue to wear masks.”

There will be exceptions for children and individuals with breathing problems.

The announcement comes just hours after Walmart and Sam’s Club issued their own mask mandate for stores.
