Fishing conditions at Watts Bar for October 11, 2018:

Reservoir Conditions: The lake is in the normal elevation range. The surface temperature is in the low 80’s which is higher than normal due to the hot weather.

Bass: Bass are being caught around the grass and blowdowns in the coves and near the open water areas. Plastic worms, buzzbaits, crankbaits, and swimbaits are being used most often.

Crappie: Crappie anglers are targeting brush, docks, and blowdowns in 10 feet of water or deeper. Use minnows or jigs.

Bluegill: Bluegill are being caught near bluff walls or around docks.

Catfish: Catfish are being caught on baits that are from some meaty source. Current will lead to better fishing. Mid lake to the dam is better.

Striped Bass: Striped bass are being caught by those using shad in the tailwaters.

White Bass: White bass are being caught while surface feeding late in the afternoon in the mid lake. Use topwater baits.
