FORMER CROSSVILLE NATIVE AMONG FIVE APPLICANTS FOR TENNESSEE SUPREME COURT VACANCY

According to a report by the Crossville Chronicle, Kyle A. Hixson, a former Crossville native and current Knox County assistant district attorney general, is among five applicants being considered for a vacancy on the Tennessee Supreme Court, following Justice Holly Kirby’s retirement on June 30, 2026.
The other applicants are J. Ross Dyer, Eileen Kuo, Carma Dennis McGee, and Shea Sisk Wellford. The Governor’s Council for Judicial Appointments will hold public interviews on November 25, 2025, at 9 a.m. CST in the Nashville Supreme Court Building’s courtroom at 401 7th Avenue North. After the interviews, the council will select three nominees to recommend to the governor.
