A former Roane County deputy was laid to rest today at Roane Memorial Gardens in Rockwood. Raymond “Eddie” Cooper, age 77, of Rockwood, received high honors today as the funeral procession traveled up Highway 27 going under a huge American flag, compliments of the Rockwood, Kingston and Harriman fire departments. Along with his service to the Roane County Sheriff’s Department, Eddie was a retired sergeant with the Harriman Police Department and a former police officer in Rockwood.
