FORREST GAY FACES MULTIPLE CHARGES AFTER ALLEGED TRADING CARD HEIST AT CUMBERLAND COUNTY WALMART
A local man is set to appear in Cumberland County General Sessions Court on Monday, August 3, 2026, following an incident involving stolen trading cards and multiple criminal trespass violations.
According to court documents and an affidavit of complaint filed by a Walmart Asset Protection Associate, Forrest Tyler Gay was spotted on store CCTV footage on June 11, 2026, selecting several packs of trading cards near the MoneyCenter. Surveillance then tracked Gay to the bath and shower department, where he allegedly broke the cards out of their packaging, concealed them in his jacket and pockets, and hid the empty boxes behind shelf merchandise.
Investigators say Gay then walked past all points of sale without attempting to pay for the items, which totaled $239.82.
Following an investigation by Officer Brittany Price, criminal charges were formally filed on June 17, 2026. Gay faces one count of theft of merchandise up to $1,000 alongside eight separate counts of criminal trespass, as he had previously been banned from the retail location in October 2025.
