A local man faces a felony domestic violence charge following an alleged assault involving a frying pan at a residence on Godsey Road late last month.

According to court filings from the Cumberland County General Sessions Court, Stephen Thomas Stepanski, 43, has been charged with Class C felony aggravated assault stemming from an incident on July 26, 2026.

Deputies with the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office responded to a 911 call at 85 Godsey Road regarding a reported domestic disturbance. Upon arrival, Deputy Joshua Alderman spoke with the victim, who reported that Stepanski entered her camper under the influence of methamphetamine and initiated an argument.

According to the affidavit of complaint, the victim stated that Stepanski struck her in the right eyebrow area with a metal frying pan and bit her right hand during the altercation. Stepanski fled the scene before law enforcement arrived and was not immediately located by responding officers.

An arrest warrant was subsequently issued, and formal charges were filed on July 28. Stepanski is scheduled to appear on the Cumberland County General Sessions Criminal Court Docket on August 3, 2026.
