FOUR ARRESTED IN DRUG BUST AT HARRIMAN DAYS INN

Harriman police arrested four people yesterday in one of the city’s largest narcotics cases involving the sale and distribution of meth in several years. Officers made contact with several individuals inside a van located in the parking lot behind the Days Inn on Childs Road. Officers searched the vehicle and recovered approximately 14.8 grams of meth, money and drug paraphernalia. Officers interviewed the occupants of the van and discovered that 42-year-old Diana Taylor, an additional member of their group, was currently staying in one of the motel rooms. While interviewing Taylor, Officers were informed of a large amount of meth in the motel room. Authorities served a search warrant and discovered large amounts of meth, marijuana, two handguns, drug paraphernalia and $480 in cash during their search. Approximately 124 grams of methamphetamine was seized, totaling almost $10,000 in street value. Taylor was charged with manufacture, sale and delivery of a Schedule II drug, simple possession of drugs and possessing a firearm during a felony. Officers also arrested 33-year-old Sarah Vincent, 18-year-old Katie Guettner, and 25-year-old Tyler Wright for manufacture, sale and delivery of a Schedule II drug, and simple possession of drugs. All four were taken to the Roane County Jail. Harriman Codes Enforcement Officer David Branam spoke with hotel management about the steps that will be taken in investigating the establishment for possible nuisance violations against state and city codes.
