FOUR-VEHICLE ACCIDENT NEAR THE CUMBERLAND/ROANE COUNTY LINE LEAVES THREE INJURED
A four-vehicle accident on Interstate 40 near the Cumberland/Roane County line yesterday left three injured. Troopers say a 2000 Volvo tractor-trailer operated by 35-year-old Stanislav Bluhstein of Oregon was traveling east at the 342 mile marker when he ran off the road and hit a rock embankment. The semi jackknifed upon impact and the trailer overturned, blocking both lanes. A 2018 Kenworth tractor-trailer driven by 53-year-old Rodney Tate of Nashville swerved to avoid colliding and hit a guard rail. Two other vehicles, a 2016 Freightliner tractor-trailer driven by 38-year-old Ronald Owens of Missouri and a 2016 Chevy Silverado operated by 61-year-old Kenneth Kennedy of Texas, both hit the trailer in the road. Bluhstein, Owens and Kennedy were all injured and were treated for injuries.
