FOUR VEHICLE ACCIDENT ON HWY 58 LEAVES ONE INJURED, ONE ARRESTED

A four vehicle accident on Highway 58 south of Kingston in Roane County Wednesday night (November 15, 2017) resulted in one injury and one arrest. The Tennessee Highway Patrol says a 2016 Nissan driven by 53-year-old Connie L. Shultz of Ten Mile was involved in a hit and run crash in the City of Kingston. Troopers say Shultz fled the scene and was traveling on Highway 58 when she crossed the center line and struck an oncoming 2006 Lincoln driven by Lucinda Berry of Philadelphia, Tennessee. After the impact, Berry’s vehicle slid into a 2003 Geo Tracker operated by Gregory A. Leach Jr. of Kingston. A 2004 Chevy Tahoe driven by Marianna L. Hughes of Ten Mile took evasive action to avoid the accident scene and was also hit by Shultz resulting in Shultz’ vehicle coming to a stop in the highway blocking the northbound lane of travel. Leach was the only injury according to the accident report. He was treated for injuries sustained. Shultz was arrested by the Tennessee Highway Patrol and charged with DUI and vehicular assault.
