FREEDOM FROM RELIGION GROUP IN A TIZZY OVER PRAYER AT GRADUATION

The Freedom From Religion Foundation is at it again. This time, according to the Chattanooga Times Free Press, the group is up in arms over a prayer that opened a high-school graduation ceremony at Ringgold High School in Catoosa County.

Christopher Line, legal fellow for FFRF, claims the letter claiming unconstitutionality in allowing the prayer is the sixth such letter the group has sent to Catoosa County Schools since 2013.

According to Catoosa County Superintendent of Schools Denia Reese, graduation ceremonies are planned – and carried out – by students. Reese said should a formal complaint be received from the FFRF, the district’s attorney will respond to it.

Earlier this year the Freedom From Religion Foundation attempted to get the Ten Commandments removed from schools in Cumberland County.
