FY 2019-2020 TAX RATE ADOPTED ON 1ST READING BY CROSSVILLE CITY COUNCIL
Tuesday night, the Crossville City Council’s May meeting had a very short agenda. After the council re-appointed Virgie Lotz to the Crossville Housing Authority, the month’s consent agenda was passed unanimously. The council passed first reading on the Ordinance adopting the FY 2019-2020 tax rate without a property tax hike. The current certified property tax rate is 0.5905. The ordinance must go through three readings before the end of June. Members also agreed to donate $500 to the Future Business Leaders of America, along with passing a motion to begin contract negotiations with Azure of Smyrna to become the new Fixed Base Operator/Manager of the Crossville Airport. The council also passed a motion to form a committee in order to revise the city’s sign ordinance.
