GEORGIA MURDER SUSPECT APPREHENDED IN EAST KNOXVILLE NEIGHBORHOOD
Knoxville police have taken a Georgia murder suspect into custody.
Police say 29-year-old Victor Parsons was arrested this morning in an East Knoxville neighborhood, following a tip from a citizen. They say Parsons was spotted walking along a street and took him into custody.
Knoxville police had been searching for Parsons after he was suspected in the Sunday-night shootings of two people at the intersection of Cedar Lane and Rowan Road. The victims, a woman and a two-year-old girl, were taken to U.T. Medical Center with what are described as serious injuries.
Then, after Knoxville police attempted to stop Parsons’ vehicle on Cherry Street, Parsons struck a 13-year-old boy riding a scooter on Linden Avenue. Parsons ditched his vehicle on College Street and took off on foot.
The teenage boy was taken to a local hospital, where he’s being treated for serious but non-life threatening injuries.
