Governor Bill Lee and the Tennessee Department of Education are awarding start-up grants to fund middle school career and technical education in the areas of science, technology, engineering, math education; and the expansion of access and participation in early postsecondary opportunities. North Cumberland Elementary, Crab Orchard Elementary and South Elementary in Cumberland County will get a total of $27,000. In Roane County, Harriman, Midway and Rockwood Middle will see a total of $30,000. The funds will be available to the schools January 1, 2020.
