“HABITUAL OFFENDER” CHARGED AGAIN FOR DRIVING ON REVOKED LICENSE
Sunday afternoon, when responding to a report of an accident with no injuries, Cumberland County deputies found 63-year-old John Garfield Phillips of Crossville, who told them he’d had a coughing fit while driving and blacked out. He regained consciousness after the vehicle came to rest. A check through dispatch revealed Phillips’ license to be revoked – for driving on a revoked license. He was classified as a habitual offender. Phillips was charged with driving while restricted and placed under $4,000 bond. His court date is set for March 4.
