HARDIN NOW IN CUSTODY AT CUMBERLAND COUNTY JAIL
Monday afternoon, Cumberland County deputies traveled to Livingston Hospital to retrieve 57-year-old George Edwin Hardin and return him to Cumberland County. Hardin had been taken into custody late Monday morning by Clay County deputies.
According to a Cumberland County arrest affidavit, Hardin had entered his victim’s home on Sharon Circle on Sunday, May 19, displayed a gun and ordered her to leave the residence with him. When she refused, Hardin fired a single shot into the wall over the victim’s head. He then forced her into her car against her will and fled to Clay County.
Hardin a convicted felon, had prior convictions for first-degree murder, armed robbery and rape.
Hardin was served warrants for aggravated assault, aggravated kidnapping, possession of a firearm while committing a felony, reckless endangerment, unlawful possession of a firearm and violation of parole. He’s being held without bond and is due in court May 30.
