HARRIMAN COUNCIL APPROVES PURCHASE OF A DRUG DOG, PLUS ORDINANCES REGARDING BEER
The Harriman City Council met Tuesday evening. Under new business they approved just under $10,000 for the purchase of a drug dog for the police department, through its drug fund money. Police Chief Byron Tapp told the council this is a needed expenditure, but expressed he did not want a bite dog.
The council approved on first reading an ordinance regulating the issuance of beer permits for special events within the City of Harriman, and raising the alcohol limit for beer products to 8 percent, to match the new limit adopted by the state.
