VEHICLE REPORTED STOLEN FROM RANDOLPH ROAD HOME RECOVERED ON LEE CIRCLE

Shortly after midnight Tuesday, a Randolph Road man told a Cumberland County deputy, he heard his 2003 Mazda pickup, parked at the road, start and then take off down the street. He admitted he had left the keys in the ignition.

Shortly after 1 a.m. Tuesday, another deputy was dispatched to an address on Lee Circle for a report of a suspicious vehicle. The homeowner said she did not know who the white Mazda pickup belonged to. The doors were locked, the key was in the ignition and the license plate was missing. Dispatch was unable to reach the owner. The stolen plate was entered in to NCIC, and the vehicle was towed to the sheriff’s office for safekeeping. There is a suspect in the case, and the incident is under investigation.
