HARRIMAN POLICE TRACK MUSTANG AFTER LEAVING SCENE OF ACCIDENT

A man faces several charges after leaving the scene of an accident in Roane County Wednesday. Deputies answered the report of a white Ford Mustang crashing into a yard 1951 and 1961 Ruritan Rd. The person reporting the crash said that he had hit the vehicle’s front bumper lying in the roadway. On their arrival, officers saw that the vehicle had struck a mailbox, damaged bushes and the front yard. They also found a rear spoiler and side mirror from the car in a ditch. The vehicle was later discovered by Harriman Police abandoned on Baumgartner St. and the driver, 29-year-old Timothy Daniel Stevens, was located in a nearby wood line. Stevens, who smelled of alcohol, was taken into custody and taken to Roane County Detention Center.
