State officials announced Harriman will receive a $623,768 grant from TDOT to improve sidewalks. The Transportation Alternatives Program grant will fund phase two of improvements for downtown Harriman with construction of sidewalks along Roane Street from Crescent Avenue to Georgia Avenue. The project includes drainage improvements, ADA upgrades, signals, lighting, landscaping and other pedestrian amenities.
