HARRIMAN UTILITY BOARD STARTS ENGINEERING PHASE OF FIBER INTERNET PROJECT
A post by the Harriman Utility Board reads:
“The Harriman Utility Board has initiated the engineering phase of our electrical grid enhancement and broadband internet project. This pamphlet verifies that the bearer is an employee or contractor of EN Engineering, LLC (“ENTRUST”), working on behalf of the Harriman Utility Board. ENTRUST is headquartered in Warrenville, IL, with satellite offices across various states in the USA. Employees of ENTRUST providing this service can be identified by their trucks, which will have a sign stating, “Harriman Utility Board Contractor”.
ENTRUST has been contracted to engineer and manage the installation of fiber optic cables on our utility poles to support this project. This process may require physical inspections of each pole within the Harriman Utility Board’s service area. Additionally, ENTRUST personnel may need to access customer properties to determine the optimal routes for fiber installation, based on the current power supply infrastructure. All activities will be conducted outside the premises and will be similar to our routine meter reading operations.
During the fiber route engineering, you may observe ENTRUST staff performing tasks such as measuring the height of existing power, phone, and cable lines, as well as the overall pole heights. They will also inspect pole routes to identify any obstacles, such as tree branches, that may impede fiber installation. Other tasks include measuring distances from our poles to customer meters and inspecting down guy wires for accessibility.
We appreciate your cooperation and understanding as we work to enhance our services.
Should you have any questions, please contact the Harriman Utility Board main office at (865) 882-3242.”
