HARRIMAN WOMAN CHARGED IN DEATH OF BOYFRIEND

Special Agents from the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and the Morgan County Sheriff’s Dept. have charged a Harriman woman with voluntary manslaughter. A TBI memo states that the TBI, at the request of 9th District Attorney General Russell Johnson, began an investigation into the death of 45-year-old Ellis Hamby Jr. after the man’s body was discovered inside a home which he shared with his girlfriend, 46-year-old Tonya Baughman. While autopsy results are pending, a preliminary report says that Ellis died from gunshot wounds. During the course of the investigation, authorities developed information that led to Baughman as the individual responsible for Hamby’s death. The suspect was arrested and charged Saturday with one count of voluntary manslaughter. She was later released on her own recognizance.
