HARRIMAN WOMAN KILLED IN ROANE COUNTY VEHICLE ACCIDENT

A Roane County accident yesterday (Tuesday, May 24, 2017) claimed the life of a woman. The Tennessee Highway Patrol says 62-year-old Debra Alexander of Harriman was driving west on Sugar Grove Valley Road around 4:30 pm when she lost control of her car on the road and slid. Alexander’s vehicle crossed into the eastbound lanes and struck a car driven by 22-year-old Nicole Bashant of Harriman. Alexander’s Hyundai then left the roadway and came to rest after hitting a utility pole. Alexander died in the crash and Bashant was uninjured. Both drivers were wearing their seatbelts and while drugs and alcohol are not believed to have been factors in the wreck, blood tests have been requested as it is standard procedure in any fatal accident.
