HEARING POSTPONED FOR RHEA COUNTY MAN CHARGED IN NASHVILLE MURDER

A Rhea County man charged with murder was scheduled to appear in a Nashville courtroom this morning but the hearing was postponed until May 12. Authorities say 28-year-old Daniel Clark of Dayton has been in custody after an hours-long manhunt last Wednesday. He and his co-defendant, 15-year-old Trinity Quinn, were eventually captured in a wooded area in Bellevue. Clark and Quinn are facing several charges including murder and robbery. New surveillance video from a nearby business to the gas station appears to show Clark and Quinn trying to unsuccessfully steal an SUV after the shooting. Police say Clark shot the clerk, 58-year-old John Stevens, several times with a semi-automatic pistol. Yesterday, during Quinn’s first appearance in juvenile court, the district attorney’s office said the state wants to try her as an adult. She went from an Amber Alert victim to a suspect after police say surveillance video showed she had plenty of time to get away but chose to follow Clark instead.
