HIGH SPEED CHASE ON I-40 RESULTS IN SEVERAL CHARGES FOR DRIVER

While patrolling on Highway 127 North Wednesday, a Cumberland County deputy witnessed a four door car traveling at a high rate of speed southbound. The vehicle driven by 43-year-old Stacy Lee Gallegos-Cisneros of Fairfield Glade turned onto I-40 heading east as officers attempted to stop her. The report states Gallegos-Cisneros  passed other automobiles in an unsafe manner and driving recklessly. She came to a stop at the Peavine Road exit.

The officer asked her to get out of the car which she allegedly refused. She had to be forced from the car and placed into custody. While putting the suspect into a patrol car, Gallegos-Cisneros supposedly kicked the deputy in the chest while she was handcuffed.

Gallegos-Cisneros was charged with simple assault on a first responder, reckless driving, evading arrest and resisting arrest. She was also issued five traffic citations for improper passing, following too close, driving with an expired registration, violation of the financial responsibility law (driving with no proof of car insurance) and failure to exercise due care.

She was taken to the Cumberland County jail and initially placed under a total bond of $10,500.
