HIGH-SPEED CHASE RESULTS IN ONE ARREST
Police officers from Rockwood, Harriman and the Roane County Sheriff’s Department all assisted the Tennessee Highway Patrol this morning (Friday, December 8, 2017) after a trooper attempted to stop a vehicle on Highway 70 at Winters Loop Road near Rockwood for a seat belt violation. Officers say 35-year-old Johnny Spears of Harriman refused to stop and a high-speed chase started. The pursuit lasted about 6 minutes and ended when Spears pulled into a driveway on Woody Avenue in Harriman. Spears was taken into custody and charged with fleeing authorities and several traffic violations. Spears was taken to the Roane County jail.
