HIGH-SPEED PURSUIT IN CUMBERLAND COUNTY RESULTS IN PHILLIPS BEING ARRESTED
While on a recent patrol on Highway 70 West, a Cumberland County deputy reportedly observed a dark colored SUV traveling at nearly 80 m.p.h. in a 55 zone. The officer attempted to pull over the driver, 31-year-old Christopher Ryan Phillips of Monterey, who allegedly led the deputy on a high-speed pursuit passing several motorists. The chase ended on Old State Road where Phillips supposedly told officers he didn’t stop because he was driving on a revoked license. Phillips was charged with reckless driving and evading arrest as well as issued a citation for speeding.
