The Friends of the Trails presented an update on walking trail construction to the Crossville City Council at their work session this week. The Friends of the Trails promotes the construction, maintenance and enjoyment of trails in the city and county. The group is requesting the city to expedite the property easement process so work can continue. The city was also asked to construct a part of a walking path that would run under the Obed River Bridge on North Main Street just south of I-40. The council will address this further at its regular meeting next week. So far, there is around 60 miles of hiking trails in Cumberland County.
