HIT AND RUN INCIDENT AT CROSSVILLE WALMART; 3,500 – 5,000 IN DAMAGES
A local police investigation into a hit-and-run collision at the Walmart parking lot has led to a misdemeanor citation for the driver involved. The incident, which took place on August 13, 2026, involved a white Kia striking a high-visibility pole before leaving the scene.
City units were dispatched to the scene on August 14 following the report. The reporting officer met with a witness who provided video footage of the collision showing distinctive stickers on the rear windshield, along with a photograph of the driver.
Using the evidence, authorities identified the driver as Chelsey Garrison (born March 30, 1989). A county unit subsequently made contact with Garrison at her residence on Kima Road, where officers observed a white Kia in the driveway displaying damage consistent with the crash.
When questioned by law enforcement and read her Miranda rights, Garrison explained that she had been driving in the parking lot when she experienced a blood sugar issue and blacked out, resulting in the collision with the pole. However, when asked about monitoring her glucose levels, she noted that her blood sugar was in the 80s at the time of the wreck.
Estimated repair costs for the damaged pole are projected between $3,500 and $5,000.
Garrison was issued a misdemeanor citation for leaving the scene of an accident.
