HOMICIDE INVESTIGATION CONTINUING IN CUMBERLAND COUNTY

The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Department, along with the TBI and district attorney’s office, continues to investigate a homicide. This past Sunday, officers responded to a home at 423 Arthur Seagraves Road in the Pleasant Hill community to do a welfare check on 71-year-old Albin Buechel. Deputies arrived to find him deceased on the floor inside the home. The victim was transported to the State of Tennessee Medical Examiner’s office for an autopsy. A suspect in the case has been named by authorities, but the identity is being withheld at this time. Cumberland County Sheriff Casey Cox told 105.7 News today that evidence from the scene is being processed at the crime lab and they are awaiting results to present to an upcoming grand jury for possible indictments. Back in May of 2012, Buechel was found with bruises and cuts on him after a burglary at his home by two suspects. He reportedly shot and killed one and the other was arrested in the incident.
