Crossville firefighters responded to a small fire at Super 8 Hotel on East First Street around 9 this morning. Assistant Fire Chief Chris South told 105.7 News an emergency outlet sign caught fire, causing smoke to spread on one level. The fire was put out right after crews arrived. The hotel was evacuated and a handicapped individual was assisted by firefighters in getting outside from the third floor. No injuries were reported. The hotel was vented to remove smoke and is expected to resume operations later today.
